Damiao confirms Tottenham bid but delays exit talk

Leandro Damiao has confirmed that Spurs have recently lodged a bid for his services, but that he will not discuss any move until July, according to The Daily Mirror.

When asked about a potential move to French Ligue One leaders Paris St. Germain, the 22-year-old Brazil forward said, “I am not aware of anything for an offer from PSG – I have had no contact with PSG. For now, I think about my club and the Copa Libertadores; in July, if a proposal comes, it will be discussed. All that I know is that Tottenham have made an offer.”

Damiao’s words echo those of his spokesman earlier in the week, who also stated there would be no discussion of the player’s future until the Copa Libertadores, which concludes on July 4th. His club, Internacional of Brazil, currently lead their group after one game in the second stage – having won the competition twice in the past six years, their involvement for much of the duration of the competition seems likely, so a decision on Damiao’s future is unlikely to come soon.
