Liverpool duo Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez will return to the Reds squad for Monday’s clash with Tottenham at Anfield and give Kenny Dalglish a much-needed boost, The
Gerrard and Suarez have only started two games together this season, but both will be included in Dalglish’s squad for the crunch game with Spurs. Liverpool have hit a good spell of form and will look to continue from their 3-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux in midweek. The Reds captain was rested for that game, but will be back along with the Uruguayan for Monday’s fixture. Dalglish is delighted with his two players and believes they can prove the difference as Liverpool look to move up the table and into the Champions League spots.
‘Luis is smashing. He’s good, he’s in and around the place and he’s quite happy. We’ll have a look and see how he is in training before we pick a team for Monday night. Steven will be back in the squad for Monday, so we’re looking quite healthy at the moment – but there are three days of training to go, so more often than not you can pick up something in that’, Dalglish said.
The Reds boss has an embarrassment of attacking riches with the good form of Andy Carroll, Dirk Kuyt and Craig Bellamy keeping them in contention for starts at Anfield. Dalglish has not guaranteed Suarez an immediate return to the Liverpool starting lineup, but Gerrard is expected to move straight back into the lineup.
