Veteran Ryan Giggs has confirmed his intention to play on for at least one more season in the Premier League for Manchester United, reports Sky
Giggs, 38, is the most decorated player in English football history. He has played and scored in every Premier League season since the competition’s inception, and last year was named Manchester United’s greatest ever player in a worldwide poll carried out by the club’s official website.
The Welshman will turn 39 in November, but told Manchester United’s official magazine, “We’ll sit down pretty soon and see what we want to do, but at the moment I feel good and I want to carry on. I feel like I’m still an influence on and off the pitch, so I’ll carry on.”
Sir Alex Ferguson has also endorsed Giggs’ desire to stay, saying, “Why shouldn’t he stay on another year? Obviously, it’s entirely up to Ryan himself, but I don’t see any reason why he can’t continue.”
