Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has insisted that playing at Old Trafford could prove beneficial for the Reds, as their away form has been better than their home form, liverpoolfc.tv
The 21 year old midfielder signed from Sunderland this summer and played in the 2-1 victory in the FA Cup at Anfield last month. Henderson has pointed to successes at Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester City away from home this season as to how good Liverpool have been away from home. Manchester United will prove a difficult task for the Reds, but Henderson is confident his side can pick up victory.
Henderson told the club’s official website: ‘It’s another massive game for us. Hopefully, we can go there and get another victory. The spirits are still really high. We’ve won some important games away this season and that gives us a lot of belief. I don’t know why we seem to have done better away from home this season. Maybe counter-attacking suits our style, but we don’t know how Saturday’s game is going to turn out’.
The Reds travel to Old Trafford after a 0-0 draw with Tottenham on Monday night, which left them in seventh and four points behind fourth placed Chelsea in the table. Henderson was left out of the game against Spurs at Anfield, but is hopeful that he can get back into the starting lineup against the Premier League champions.
