King to delay Tottenham contract talks until end of season

Ledley King has stated he intends to wait until the end of the season before discussing a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur, reports Goal.com.

King, 31, has made 15 appearances for Tottenham this season, with 10 of those coming in the Premier League. Spurs have lost just one of those games, against Manchester City, highlighting his success when on the pitch. The club stated earlier in the season that King would be offered a new contract if he succeeded in playing 20 games this season, but the England international is taking each game one at a time.

“I’ve left it between my agent and the chairman and I have not hear anything at the moment,” he said when questioned on the new contract. “I’m just keeping my head down and playing as many games as I can and at the end of the season we will see where that is.”

King’s injury problems stem from a chronic knee condition which restricts the number of games he can play, as well as his ability to train with the team.
