The 20 year old has been targeted by several Spanish sides and Liverpool are keen to offer him the chance to play Premier League football. Tello has been promoted from the B team in recent months and has played eight times in the last three months under Pep Guardiola. The Spain youth international has scored four goals in the league and cup this season.
Tello would be available on a free transfer at the end of the season if a deal cannot be negotiated and Liverpool scouts have been to watch the Barcelona forward. The reigning Spanish champions may include a buy-back option within any permanent deal, but they could be open to loaning Tello out for first-team experience.
The Reds have bought young players since the takeover from American business Fenway Sports Group, but will miss out on Groningen striker David Teixeira. The 20 year old has scored eight times this season and has declared that it is too early for him to leave Holland for the Premier League, so he will stay and gain more experience.
