Chelsea are believed to be ready to compete for the signature of Manchester United youngster Paul Pogba, according to the Daily
The 18-year-old’s future has been the subject of significant speculation, as although having expressed his happiness at Old Trafford and received praise from Sir Alex Ferguson, talks to extend his current contract stalled during the January transfer window.
The reason for this is reported to reside in Pogba demanding a one-off fee of £3m to sign his next contract, which Chelsea are apparently willing to pay to secure his services.
However it is not only the London club who are close monitoring Pogba’s situation at United, with Manchester City and Juventus similarly doing so. Indeed the Frenchman’s agent recently attended a game between the Turin giants and AC Milan, which intensified rumours of an imminent move to Italy, that is yet to materialise, giving Chelsea some time to consider lodging a formal bid for the player.
