Louis Saha has told Sky
Saha joined the club in the January transfer window on a short-term deal, following a relatively disappointing first half of the season where he netted just once in 18 league appearances. However, since making the move down south to Tottenham, Saha has made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in 86 minutes of league action.
Talking on the widely reported assumption that Redknapp is favourite for the national team role, Saha backed his ability, but revealed concern for Spurs:
“I have great reservations about the possible departure of Redknapp. He is a great coach and would bring something to the England team, but the championship is quite open and it would be damaging to see him go now.”
Tottenham currently sit in third place in the Barclays Premier League, 10 points ahead of Sunday’s north London derby opponents Arsenal. Spurs go into the game on the back of one defeat in the last 15 in all competitions.
