Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has revealed that he just cannot score after managing just three league goals during his time at Stamford Bridge, The
The Spanish international has failed to score in 20 matches and was substituted at half-time in Saturday’s FA Cup fifth round tie with Birmingham City after another goalless performance. Torres was signed by the Blues for £50m in January 2011, but has not performed as well as he did with Liverpool and may lose his place to the returning Didier Drogba. The 27 year old admits he is struggling in front of goal, but believes his future is at Stamford Bridge.
Torres said: ‘To be honest, after one year I was expecting things would be better than they are now. On the pitch it is a difficult time for Chelsea because we are not finding the results but we’re changing things, like playing a different style. It’s such a strange feeling now because I am feeling better than ever physically. I am not finding the chances. And when I do find the chances, I cannot score.’
The Chelsea forward continued: ‘My present and my future are here. I have many things to do here and I want to do it because I always did what I wanted in every club I’ve been at, so this is not going to be different.’
