Tottenham back in for Damaio

Spurs are once again battling for the signature of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, according to Talksport.

The 21-year-old striker, who has 21 goals in 53 appearances for his club Internacional this season, has oft been linked with a move to the North London side, most recently in January, and according to Metro they also made a £17 million bid in November. However, the two clubs have been as yet unable to agree a deal, and Talksport speculates that other clubs, including PSG, Inter Milan, and Juventus are now joining the fight for Damiao’s signature.

Damiao’s agent has admitted that whilst the door was closed to a January move, there is still a possibility of the striker departing for Europe in the summer. “In January the club and the player decided to continue with a view to the Copa Libertadores,” he said, “but in July the situation could change – if there is a good deal for the club and the player.”
