Tottenham midfielder Bentley linked with MK Dons and MLS moves

David Bentley could be set for a loan move to MK Dons, or even a Major League Soccer side in the USA for the remainder of the season.

Bentley, 27, struggled to impress at Tottenham following a £15 million move from Blackburn Rovers, and has recently spent loan spells at both Birmingham City and West Ham United. His loan spell with the Hammers, which was initially intended to be for the entire season, was brought to a premature end last October when he suffered a serious knee injury which required surgery – however, his recovery from the injury has been much quicker than anticipated.

League One MK Dons are reportedly looking to take advantage of that fact by bringing Bentley in for the remainder of the season, with an as yet unknown MLS side also reportedly interested, although the team will depend on the decision of the MLS as is normal in the U.S. league.

The winger was named in Spurs’ 25 man squad for the second half of the season, but with the Tottenham midfield burgeoning with talent, a move to the League One could give him valuable playing time. MK Dons currently sit in the play-off positions in the league, and the acquisition of Bentley could help them push for promotion.
