Vialli: Guardiola could be Inter boss next season

Gianluca Vialli has indicated that Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola could well make the switch to Serie A next season to become coach at Inter Milan.

The 41-year-old works on a year-to-year basis and has still not committed himself to the Catalan giants for next season despite the efforts of club President Sandro Rosell to get him to sign a new agreement. A move to Inter has been suggested as a possibility with the Nerazurri understood to be thinking about a change of coach following Claudio Ranieri’s poor start.

“Next season Guardiola could be on Inter’s bench with Roberto Baggio as his assistant,” the former Chelsea striker told Sky Sports News. It follows increased speculation linking Guardiola with the San Siro job after he was seen wearing a black and blue scarf (Inter’s colours) during his club’s 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

However, Guardiola, who has led Barca to 13 titles since taking over at the Camp Nou in 2008, played down the significance of the scarf and said it had been given to him by a friend.
