Villas-Boas wary of growing gap after Swansea draw

Chelsea left it late to snatch a draw against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium last night when deep into injury time Jose Bosingwa’s cross was diverted into his own net by Neil Taylor. With Tottenham Hotspur winning 3-1 against Wigan the gap between the two now extends to seven points, something that Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is aware of.

The Portuguese told reporters after the game: “It’s a gap that grows. Two weekends ago it was reduced so it’s the same. We go back to how we were before. A seven-point gap is nothing in the Premier League.”

The Premier League’s youngest manager also spoke of his disappointment at not claiming three points, but believes his side a still capable of catching up with Spurs: “It’s never satisfying to get just a point here but Tottenham are still within our reach. Let’s see with our own games from now on what we can do.”
