Arsenal will this summer travel to Hong Kong for the first time in nearly two decades to play a pre-season friendly match, Sports
The Gunners will meet Kitchee FC at the Hong Kong Stadium on July 29 as part of their summer Asia tour, which will also see Arsenal play Premier League rivals Manchester City in China at the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing in early August. It is 17 years since Arsenal last played in Hong Kong.
Arsenal spent part of last summer in Asia as they prepared for the Premier League season, taking on a Malaysia XI in July at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, winning 4-0 through goals from Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, a Carlos Vela penalty and a late strike from Tomas Rosicky.
Arsene Wenger’s side also met China’s Hangzhou Greentown during their travels, drawing 1-1 with another Vela goal in a match played out in front of more than 20,000 spectators. The home side had taken the lead before Vela equalised on the stroke of half-time.
