Arsenal are watching Udinese duo Mehdi Benetia and Mauricio Isla but face competition for the pair from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Serie A side Napoli, with the Italian outfit believed to be favourites for the deal, according to TalkSport.
Moroccan Benetia and Chilean Isla, both defenders, have been at Udinese since 2010 and 2007 respectively. Benetia began his career in his native France with Marseille but failed to make the grade, bouncing around on loan before moving to Italy via French lower league side Clermont. The 24-year-old represented France at U-18 level but switched to the North African country in 2008.
Isla is a right-sided defender who is also capable of playing in midfield. A Chile international since September 2007, Isla featured at the 2010 World Cup, helping La Rioja to the second round of the competition, starting all four games played by the national team. Udinese are currently fifth in Serie A, level on points with Napoli in fourth.
