Bale a Tottenham doubt ahead of Man Utd clash

Gareth Bale is Tottenham’s principle injury doubt ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester United, with Kyle Walker and Rafael van der Vaart also doubts, reports The Independent.

Bale, 22, has been a mainstay of the Tottenham side this season, scoring 9 goals in 25 appearances. However, he was kept out of Wales’ 1-0 defeat at the hands of Costa Rica on Wednesday night with a suspected Grade 1 hamstring tear, and is expected to miss this weekend’s game, though official confirmation is yet to appear on Tottenham’s official website.

Kyle Walker missed England’s friendly with the Netherlands after sustaining an ankle injury in the defeat to Arsenal last weekend, and Rafael van der Vaart also failed to feature in that game after sustaining a similar injury in training. Scott Parker will definitely miss the fixture, after getting sent off in the dying minutes of the defeat to Arsenal, with Jake Livermore and Sandro vying to take his place in the starting line-up.
