Chamakh and Park to play for Arsenal reserves

Arsenal strikers Marouane Chamakh and Park Chu-Young will play for the Gunners’ reserves on Wednesday night against West Bromwich Albion’s second string in an effort to entice any interested parties into a summer transfer offer, according to the Metro.

The newspaper adds that scouts and representatives from fellow Premier League side Fulham, French club Monaco, who sold Park to Arsenal in the summer, and Belgian outfit Anderlecht will be in attendance.

Arsene Wenger is also expected to be present at Barnet’s Underhill ground, the venue for the match, to cast his eye over a number of Arsenal youngsters who will make up the rest of the squad, along with the likes of Alex Santos, Carl Jekninson and Johan Djourou, who will all feature having each recently recovered from injury.

Chamakh, who joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010, has made only eight Premier League appearances this season, seven as a substitute, scoring once. Park has appeared less often still, making only one substitute appearance in the Premier League.
