Dalglish takes his side to the Sports Direct Arena – formerly St James’ Park – on Sunday with Liverpool eight points adrift of their hosts. The Scot said: “The game is two weeks away so I am sure there will be a lot of conversations about Everton nearer the time. But for us the most important game right at this particular moment in time is Newcastle.”
Newcastle go into the contest a place above Liverpool in sixth, off the back of a 3-1 away victory over West Bromwich Albion. A Papiss Cisse double and a Hatem Ben Arfa strike gave the Magpies victory over the Baggies, with Cisse registering his fourth and fifth goals for Newcastle since arriving in the Premier League in January.
