Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has put several Premier League clubs on alert, including Arsenal, after calling time on his 19 year stay in Turin, The
The former Italy international is out of contract with the club this summer and has not been offered an extension, which has led to Del Piero’s representatives declaring he will leave the club. French side Paris Saint Germain are interested in the 37 year old and former team-mate Mohamed Sissoko has urged PSG to snap up Del Piero as soon as possible.
Arsenal have emerged as shock contenders for Del Piero and the Italian’s brother and agent, Stefano, told Italian media that his days with the Old Lady are numbered. The 37 year old has made 15 appearances this season, but has yet to score a goal as Juventus look to win the Serie A title. In his Juventus career, Del Piero has won Serie A five times as well as the Champions League and the 2006 World Cup with Italy, but is expected to leave his native country for the first time in his career.
Stefano Del Piero said: “There is no news at the moment, but all the doors are open for a move away from Turin. There are no restrictions from our part. It all depends on what type of project a club has and what is exactly behind the proposal and the kind of football which would attract Alex, but the main interest is the project. We are not close to anything, but I think it will be hard to remain in Serie A.”
