Steven Gerrard’s withdrawal during the first-half of England’s 3-2 defeat against the Netherlands was a precaution over a tight hamstring, according to the BBC.

England eventually lost through two Arjen Robben goals and a strike from Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The Dutch side went two goals ahead in the second-half via Robben’s first in the 57th minute and Huntelaar’s effort two minutes later. Gary Cahill pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining before it appeared Ashley Young had salvaged a draw in the 90th minute, only for Robben to add the second of his brace in the dying seconds.
Liverpool face Arsenal on Saturday, their first match since winning the League Cup last weekend.
