Steven Gerrard’s withdrawal during the first-half of England’s 3-2 defeat against the Netherlands was a precaution over a tight hamstring, according to the BBC.
England eventually lost through two Arjen Robben goals and a strike from Klaas Jan Huntelaar. The Dutch side went two goals ahead in the second-half via Robben’s first in the 57th minute and Huntelaar’s effort two minutes later. Gary Cahill pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining before it appeared Ashley Young had salvaged a draw in the 90th minute, only for Robben to add the second of his brace in the dying seconds.
