Lille star Hazard attracting Man Utd interest

The Manchester Evening News has reported that Manchester United are considering a summer move for Lille midfielder and Belgium international Eden Hazard.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to have watched Hazard in person on three occasions, the newspaper adds. Hazard, capable of playing centrally or in a wider position, is also reportedly on the wish list of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old has helped the reigning champions of France to third place in this year’s Ligue 1 table, 11 points off Paris Saint-Germain, the oil-rich club from the capital who lead the division. Lille are also 10 points behind second placed Montpellier, the surprise package who were only a mid-table outfit last season, ending the campaign in 14th.

Hazard, capped 26 times for Belgium, has made 186 appearances since making his debut for the club at which he began his career, scoring 40 times.
