Poor Liverpool form makes players angry, says Suarez

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has revealed that the club’s poor results have made the players angry and desperate to arrest the slide, according to ESPN.

The Reds last week lost 2-1 at home to a Wigan Athletic side who were level on points with bottom of the table Wolverhampton Wanderers at kick-off. A Shaun Maloney penalty and Gary Caldwell finish condemned Liverpool to a 10th match at Anfield without victory this season. Kenny Dalglish’s side have won five of their matches at home, drawing eight and losing two.

Suarez said: “The squad is angry and we really want to win at Newcastle on Sunday. Our mission is to finish in the highest position possible and to fight for the FA Cup.” The Uruguayan forward was on target against the Latics, levelling the scores just after half-time and had a goal disallowed after he was adjudged to have used his hand to turn the ball over the line. Liverpool would have gone in front had Suarez’s effort been allowed to stand, but just after the hour mark Caldwell put Wigan ahead after finding himself unmarked in the penalty area.
