Redknapp believes Tottenham can beat Man Utd

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes his side have the best chance of ending their 11 year wait for a victory over Manchester United, The Daily Mail reports.

Spurs are enjoying a successful campaign and find themselves comfortably in the top four with the chance of closing the gap on the top two. Man United are the next opponents for Harry Redknapp’s men and victory will close the gap to the Premier League champions to just five points. Spurs were beaten 3-0 in their first game of the season at Old Trafford, but they are much improved despite last weekend’s 5-2 loss at the Emirates Stadium.

Redknapp is confident that his side can end the club’s winless streak against Sir Alex Ferguson’s men and wants them to finish the season on a high. Ferguson has backed the Spurs manager for the England job and will be hopeful that the Spurs side are distracted by the speculation surrounding Redknapp. Redknapp is without the suspended Scott Parker, but will have Ledley King, Rafael van der Vaart and Kyle Walker available.

‘It is the best equipped team to win since 2001 (the last time Spurs beat United). It will be difficult. Manchester United are still a great team, so you know what you are in for. We will have to be at our very best if we are going to get a result from the game, but we have a good chance. They are a top team, but so are we. It should be a great game’, Redknapp said.
