Arsenal left-back Andre Santos has spoken of his joy about being back playing football following a three month injury problem, Arsenal.com
The Brazilian defender sustained an ankle injury against Olympiacos in October and made his return to football in a reserve team fixture with West Brom. Santos helped the Gunners to a 3-0 win on Wednesday night and was delighted to get 60 minutes under his belt in an Arsenal shirt. Arsene Wenger’s side travel to Everton next Wednesday and the 29 year old is hopeful he can play some part in that fixture at Goodison Park.
Santos said: “I am very happy to be playing again, because it has been a long time. I feel good and I hope to be able to play next week at Everton. It has been a difficult time because my ankle was in pain and I didn’t feel good, but now it feels good again and I’m very happy to be back.”
Arsenal reserve team boss Neil Banfield was impressed with the Brazilian’s performance and believes he did great in his comeback game. Banfield also reveals Santos is fantastic for the club and the inclusion of full first-team squad members such as Johann Djourou, Marouane Chamakh and Santos against the Baggies helped the young professionals at the club.
