Spurs target Mourinho to replace Redknapp

Tottenham Hotspur have identified Jose Mourinho as their first choice to replace Harry Redknapp if Redknapp leaves White Hart Lane in the summer to take the vacant England manager’s job, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper adds that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is willing to pay “whatever it takes” to bring the current Real Madrid boss back to the Premier League. Between 2004 and 2007 Mourinho was in charge at Tottenham’s London rivals Chelsea, winning the Premier League title twice in his time in West London.

Mourinho moved to Stamford Bridge after two years with Porto, where he twice won the Primeira Liga as well as claiming a UEFA Cup and the Champions League. After being sacked by Chelsea Mourinho returned to football with Serie A side Inter in 2008, replacing current Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, and won the Serie A title on two occasions as well as adding a second Champions League victory to his r
