Suarez wants to stay at Liverpool

Luis Suarez has revealed he wants to stay at Liverpool after speculation Paris Saint-Germain were planning an offer for the Uruguayan, the Liverpool Echo has reported.

Quotes came to light earlier this month from the owner of the French side, Nasser Al Khleaif, in which he stated he intended to sign either Suarez or Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain at the end of the season. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish rejected the idea Suarez could be sold, and now the player himself has echoed his manager’s thoughts.

Suarez said: “I want to stay. Despite everything that happened, I’m happy here, on and off the pitch.

Liverpool reached the FA Cup semi-final with a 2-1 victory over Stoke City on Sunday, with Suarez scoring the opening goal in the first-half after a one-two with Maxi Rodriguez. The goal was Suarez’s 11th of a season that has seen the 25-year-old banned for eight games after being found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra. Since returning from suspension, Suarez has found the net three times and helped Liverpool to victory in the Carling Cup final.
