Arsenal winger Theo Walcott will miss the rest of the Premier League season after injuring his hamstring against Chelsea on Saturday, the
Walcott originally suffered the injury after around an hour of the London derby at the Emirates Stadium, but attempted to play on. Shortly after the former Southampton player pulled up again, this time with a more serious problem, and had to be substituted.
Arsene Wenger has said the injury will require three weeks of treatment and recovery, ruling Walcott out of Arsenal’s final three games of the season but keeping him on schedule to return in time for Euro 2012. England’s first pre-tournament friendly, against Norway, is on May 26, just over a month away.
Walcott has this season appeared 45 times for Arsenal, scoring 11 times, and has now made 216 appearances in total for Arsenal since moving to North London in 2006, finding the back of the net on 42 occasions.
