Bale insists Redknapp should take England job

Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has told his boss Harry Redknapp to answer the Football Association’s call if they offer him the England job, The Sun reports.

Redknapp has been linked with the vacancy at Wembley since Fabio Capello resigned in the wake of John Terry’s removal as England captain. The Spurs boss has seen his side suffer a dip in form following the speculation over his future, which he refused to blame on the talk regarding England. Tottenham take on Swansea today in a bid to stop their poor league form, which has saw them winless in five games.

“We all want Harry to stay. But he is great manager and if England do come calling, it’s one of those lifetime opportunities that you just can’t turn down. Clearly, it’s going to be his choice and only he knows whether he wants the job or not. It is the dream job for him”, Bale said.

Bale believes that although Redknapp has been a great manager for the club and the players will miss him, the England job cannot be turned down. The 22 year old has been in inspired form under Redknapp and as well as speaking about Redknapp’s future, Bale has refused to rule out a move to Spain with Barcelona and Real Madrid on the cards.
