Chelsea have to score at Barcelona, admits Cech

Petr Cech has admitted Chelsea will need to score in the away leg of their Champions League semi-final with Barcelona, the Guardian reports, with the goalkeeper adding he believes Roberto Di Matteo’s side will find the target at the Nou Camp.

Chelsea lead the contest 1-0 from the first-leg after Didier Drogba’s goal gave the Blues a slender advantage to take to Spain. At Stamford Bridge Chelsea scored from their only shot on target while Barcelona were frustrated by a combination of bad luck and poor finishing, while Cech believes Chelsea will have to find the back of the net again to reach the final.

Cech said: “We’ve done well there in the past…It will be really important to score another goal as well. We seem to always score a goal there so hopefully we can replicate that.” When Chelsea last played Barcelona at the home of the champions of Europe the game finished 0-0, with a late Barca second-leg away goal sending them through to the final. In October 2006, however, the sides drew 2-2 in Spain, while the two seasons before that saw a 1-1 draw and a 2-1 Barcelona win respectively.
