Dzeko calls for Modric to move to Man City

Edin Dzeko has told Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric to swap White Hart Lane for the Etihad Stadium, according to the Daily Mail.

The Croatian playmaker, who has made 31 Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this season, has a number of admirers and Chelsea failed with a £40m bid to lure him away from Tottenham last year. However, Roberto Mancini could be willing to go one step further and seal the deal for Modric as he looks to strengthen his squad.

Bosnian striker Dzeko said: “Yes, everyone is after him but I would love it if he came to City. He would be a great addition.” He added: “Besides that, he would have everything at City — Champions League, fighting for the title, great wages. I am cheering for him to choose City.”

But even if Modric moves to the Etihad this summer, he may find that admirer Dzeko, who has scored 13 goals in 28 Premier League appearances so far this season, could be on his way out of Manchester. The 26-year-old striker, who joined City for £27m, has recently been linked with a move back to Germany, with Wolfsburg reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
