Lambert’s side are made up of former Football League players who had never tasted a lot of Premier League experience and they have coped brilliantly so far. Norwich face a tricky trip away to Fulham this weekend, but will be buoyed by last weekend’s 2-1 win over Wolves at Carrow Road. Lambert has steered Norwich to the Premier League after they were in League One two seasons ago and Norwich seem as if they are safe enough to survive this season.
Calls have been made for Lambert to be named as the Premier League Manager of the Year and that decision would be justified, judging on how brilliantly Norwich have done under his supervision. The former Celtic midfielder has always had great faith in what his side can achieve this season and they have repayed that faith with some impressive performances. Lambert will continue to strive for improved performances from his players who have united together brilliantly.
“We made a conscious decision to keep the group that got us up from League One into the Championship and then up again. The hunger, desire and the ability that the lads have got, we hoped would take us far. I think there’s inner belief in ourselves, which is great. I think they’ve got a big belief that they can go and win games. That momentum has stooed them in good stead and given them a winning mentality”, Lambert said.
