The newspaper adds that Dzeko is now Roberto Mancini’s fourth-choice striker, behind Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and the returned Carlos Tevez. It is a far cry from the start of the season when Dzeko scored seven goals in his first four games, scoring once each against Manchester United in the Community Shield and Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League, capping his strong start to the campaign with four of City’s five goals against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
Dzeko has found goals a little harder to come by since then, however, with the 26-year-old not finding the back of the net since the end of February. The drought has seen Dzeko slip down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, encouraging Bayern and Dortmund to tempt City with an offer to take Dzeko back to Germany, where he played for Wolfsburg between July 2007 and January 2011.
