Matias Suarez told to avoid Liverpool

Former Liverpool midfielder Milan Jovanovic has told Anderlecht teammate Matias Suarez that he should reject any advances from Kenny Dalglish this summer, Metro reports.

Jovanovic endured a miserable time at Anfield after his free transfer from Standard Liege in 2010 and after starting only five Premier League games, the 30 year old moved to Anderlecht last summer. The Serbian international believes that Suarez would not enjoy life in Liverpool and believes the £20m-rated player should steer clear of England in general. Arsenal and Manchester City are believed to be alongside Liverpool in holding interest for the Argentine, whose form for the Belgian side has attracted admirers. Suarez’s agent, Jorge Cyterzpiler, stated that 15 clubs were interested in Suarez and the 23 year old should move from Anderlecht this summer.

Juventus are one of the sides looking at Suarez and Jovanovic believes that Italy would be a much better fit for the 23 year old. Anderlecht director Herman van Holsbeeck revealed that the Serie A side matched the valuation for Suarez, which is around £15m, and the Argentine forward is open to a move to the Bianconeri.

Jovanovic stated: “I shed lots of tears in England. I felt unhappy every day over there. London is a nice place to live, but everywhere else is depresseing. I have advised Suarez not to move to Liverpool. They’ll throw a lot of money at him, but he should opt for Italy”.
