Pep to discuss future with Rosell

Pep Guardiola said after the semi-final Champions League loss to Chelsea he will meet Barcelona President Sandro Rosell shortly to sort out his future.

El Economista reports that a decision will be taken in the next few days, with Guardiola maintaining immediately after Tuesday’s defeat that “it will be the best one for this institution.”

The 41-year-old’s contract at the Camp Nou runs out on June 30 and if he renews it will mean a fifth season at the helm since his arrival in summer 2008. Since then Barcelona have enjoyed the most glorious era in the club’s history, with 13 out of a possible 16 trophies won and a plethora of exciting youngsters emerging from its famed La Masia academy.

Rosell is desperate for his Coach to put pen to paper preferably with a two-year agreement in place, although Guardiola is famed for only committing himself to 12 month contracts, and the Barca boss was giving nothing away.

“We will talk about everything, the whole situation, and only then will we make a decision,” he said.
