Fernando Torres wants to help fire Chelsea to the FA Cup final in order to repay the club’s supporters for keeping faith in him this season, according to the Daily
The Spaniard, who switched Anfield for Stamford Bridge last January in a stunning £50m move, has failed to hit top-form for the Blues in his short career so far at Chelsea.
In fact, Torres has scored just three goals in 27 Premier League appearances so far this term and has found the net only seven times in all competitions this season.
However, the former Liverpool star could yet play a pivotal role as Chelsea look to progress in the FA Cup and Champions League as well as seal a top-four finish in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old said: “The support has been there for me since the first day and I’m very proud to be here. I want to give something back to the fans now. This will be my first time going to Wembley since I’ve been in England, so hopefully we can win a tough London derby to get into the final.”
Chelsea face Spurs at 6pm in the FA Cup semi-final this evening. The winner of the tie will face Liverpool in next month’s final.
