Tottenham want Chelsea forward Kalou

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou when the Ivory Coast international’s contract expires this summer, the Daily Mail has reported.

Kalou joined Chelsea in 2006 but has largely remained on the fringes of the squad, despite enjoying something of a rebirth under interim manager Roberto Di Matteo. Kalou has featured in 11 games under Di Matteo since the Italian replaced Andre Villas-Boas in March, having played in only 10 games under the Portuguese since the start of the season.

Returned to the reckoning by Di Matteo, Kalou netted a vital away goal as Chelsea beat Benfica in Portugal and found the net against Leicester City during an FA Cup rout. With Chelsea half way to the final in the former competition after a 1-0 win over Barcelona and already confirmed in the final of the latter tournament after a 5-1 triumph over Spurs, Kalou has made an important contribution to both causes, attracting the eye of Harry Redknapp in the process.
