Cole looking for second chance at Liverpool

Joe Cole is hoping he gets a second chance at Liverpool after his loan spell at French club Lille came to an end, the Daily Mail has reported. The former England international moved to Ligue 1 after failing to settle at Anfield following his free transfer move from Chelsea.

Cole struggled after leaving the capital and was allowed to leave Liverpool on loan last summer by Kenny Dalglish, but after impressing with Lille, the midfielder is keen to put his Reds career back on track.

While Cole was at pains to stress he had no problem with Dalglish, he also conceded that the Scot’s departure could be the opening he needed to return to Liverpool, adding that while Dalglish was in charge it was most likely he’d have left the club of a full-time basis this summer.

Cole made 32 appearances in his only season with Liverpool thus far, scoring twice, after spending seven years at Stamford Bridge, winning both the Premier League and the FA Cup on three occasions.
