The newspaper puts Emmanuel Adebayor, who spent last season on loan at White Hart Lane, top of Redknapp’s wish list, along with Marseille striker Loic Remy and Arouna Kone, the free agent who played on loan at Levante from Sevilla last season.
Negotiations for Adebayor, however, are complicated by the massive wage packet the Togo striker receives from Manchester City, said by the Telegraph to be £170,000 per week, substantially more than the £100,000 per week Spurs are willing to offer. Kone, meanwhile, is wanted on a permanent basis by Levante and a move for Remy could cost £18m. Spurs are reportedly only willing to pay £15m.
Defoe has said that he does not want to leave Tottenham, only that he wants to start more often, and will see how the land lies once he returns from Euro 2012 duty with England.
