Manchester United captain Patrice Evra believes Eden Hazard should join him at Old Trafford rather than move to Premier League rivals Chelsea or title-winners Manchester City, the
Hazard, the in-demand Lille winger, has admitted he will leave the Ligue 1 side this summer with the three Premier League clubs vying for his signature. Each are believed to have agreed terms with the 21-year-old but Hazard has not yet revealed his destination, insisting he will consider factors such as the position in which he will play before making up his mind.
But Evra feels Hazard would be making a mistake if he chose to go somewhere other than the red side of Manchester, despite Sir Alex Ferguson’s side being the only one of the three interested parties to end the season without a trophy. City clinched the league title on goal difference from United while Chelsea won both the Champions League and FA Cup.
Evra said: “I’m not his father but, if he comes to Manchester, I assure him that he will win titles. That’s if he joins my Manchester, not the blue side.”
