Malouda the latest Chelsea doubt for Champions League final

Interim Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo could have to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League without another of his experienced players after Florent Malouda was withdrawn before half-time during the final Premier League game of the season, the Daily Mail has reported.

Malouda was substituted at the break as a precaution after 43 minutes against Blackburn Rovers after suffering a hamstring injury, Di Matteo said. The stand-in coach is already without captain John Terry, defender Branislav Ivanovic and midfielders Raul Meireles and Ramires for the match against the German side, while David Luiz and Gary Cahill face a race against time to prove their fitness for the fixture.

The Mail adds that of all Chelsea’s squad players Malouda was one of the more likely to break into the first XI for the match in the Allianz Arena. The French winger has made 42 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring two goals.
