Moses set for Wigan exit as Liverpool link resurfaces

The agent of Wigan forward Victor Moses has confirmed that he is likely to seek a move away from the DW Stadium this summer, ESPN Soccernet reports.

Moses signed for the Latics for £2.5m in 2010 and has become a key member of Roberto Martinez’s side, helping them to another miraculous Premier League survival this season. The 21 year old has scored six times this season, but his future seemingly lies elsewhere. Tony Finnigan, the player’s agent, firmly believes that his career is suited for a top club, such as Liverpool.

The Reds have been alerted to the availability of Moses after he declined contract talks with Wigan to extend his current deal beyond next summer. The Latics will want a good price for the player, which Liverpool believe they can afford ahead of other potential suitors Sunderland and Newcastle. Finnigan admitted that what Wigan did for Moses was tremendous, but the 21 year old will have to move on to a bigger side in order to further his development.

Finnigan said: “I think Victor is ready for the next step. He still has lots of improving to do in terms of scoring goals more regularly. But I think that would come if he was surrounded by better players. That’s what he wants and is why he won’t be extending his contract. I can’t see Victor changing his mind”.
