Walcott to discuss Arsenal future after Euro 2012 as Chelsea interest grows

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott will meet with the club’s hierarchy to discuss his future at the Emirates Stadium after he has competed at Euro 2012 with England, the Daily Mail has reported, with Chelsea said to be watching Walcott’s next step with interest.

Walcott’s Arsenal contract expires next summer but the attention paid to the England international’s expiring deal has been a fraction of that lavished on Robin van Persie, with Arsenal yet to make Walcott an offer. Chelsea are monitoring the situation and while Walcott has said in the past he wants to remain at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is said to be frustrated with Walcott’s inconsistent performances.

Having moved to Arsenal in January 2006 after beginning his career at Southampton, Walcott has made 217 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 42 goals. In the season just ended Walcott featured 46 times, getting his name on the score sheet on 11 occasions.
