Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has admitted he is excited at the prospect of playing with Eden Hazard, the Belgium midfielder who this week revealed he was bound for Stamford Bridge, the
Hazard announced on Twitter that he was joining the Champions League winners, although official confirmation from the club has yet to arrive. Hazard is nevertheless expected to wrap up the move next week, the Mail notes, and will be in England to participate in an international friendly at Wembley on Saturday, England’s last before Euro 2012 gets underway.
Lampard, who faces an anxious wait over a thigh injury picked up in training that could threaten his involvement in the tournament, has said that while he has not seen Hazard play personally, he has heard a lot of good things about the Lille player. Lampard added: “I haven’t seen so much of the French football but everyone I speak to says he is a very top player, a very top young player.” Lampard also pointed to the praise of his former Chelsea and England teammate Joe Cole as evidence Hazard has the quality to step into the Premier League.
