Nicklas Bendtner is getting closer and closer to sealing a move away from the Emirates, according to his agent Jesper Lynghus.
Speaking about Bendtner’s proposed transfer, the agent said: “We are getting closer day by day, the interest is overwhelming, just as it should be after the way Nicklas performed at Euro 2012.” But he chose to not add fuel to any transfer rumours, stating: “We’re not commenting on individual deals at the moment, but it’s fair to say the interest in Nicklas is global.”
That last statement being prompted by speculated interest from mega-rich Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala. However there are a number of teams being linked with the 24-year old striker, just last week there were reports surfacing that Malaga were hoping to sign him to strengthen their squad ahead of their first season in the Champion League.
Bendtner scored twice at the European Championship, both against semi-finalists Portugal in a 3-2 defeat. The Dane has dominated headlines since then for the wrong reasons. During his celebrations he revealed a betting sponsor on his boxers – a breach of UEFA’s rules – for which he was fined a significant amount.
