Everton are lining up a bid to bring Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandzukic to Goodison Park.
According to reports from Sky
A bid in the region of £8 million has been suggested and Mandzukic’s agent has spoken about the player’s desire to play football elsewhere next season. He said:
“There are many rumours about his future but it is too early to talk about it. I must first discuss things with Mario and understand what might be the solution. He is ready for a new adventure but must not forget that he has a two-year-contract with Wolfsburg” finally adding: “Mario wants to play in a European competition, it’s one of the reason why he is thinking of leaving.”
Reports also suggest that Italian champions Juventus are weighing up a bid for the striker but David Moyes will be hoping that the promise of regular first team action in the Premier League – as well as playing alongside countryman Jelavic – will be enough to tempt Mandzukic to Everton.
The 26-year-old, who scored three time before Croatia were eliminated at Euro 2012, has been at Wolfsburg for two years, signing for the club in 2010 from Dinamo Zagreb. He has 56 appearances and 20 goals for the Bundesliga side.
