Liverpool target Borini expects Roma stay

Fabio Borini distanced himself from speculation that he is set for a move to Liverpool. have reported that the striker has no knowledge of any move to the Premier League and is happy to have completed his permanent switch to Roma, having spent last season on loan at the Serie A club – but doesn’t rule out the possibility of a switch to Anfield. He said:

“I am at Roma now, Roma have just bought me, either today or yesterday. It’s not my business now to go to Liverpool or to stay. I don’t know [if there is a possibility of doing so] For now I am a Roma player.”

Borini signed for Parma last summer after leaving Chelsea at the end of his contract, but was loaned out to Roma almost immediately. It was at the Giallorossi that the youngster shone, scoring 9 goals in 24 league games to earn a place in Italy’s Euro 2012 squad.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers knows the 21-year-old all too well, he spent time with him in the Chelsea youth squads as well as taking him on loan during Swansea’s promotion winning season.
