Man City midfielder Silva not interested in Real Madrid move

The agent of David Silva has rejected reports the midfielder is ready to leave Premier League winners Manchester City to return to Spain with Real Madrid, the Daily Mirror has reported.

It had been rumoured that Jose Mourinho identified Silva as one of the players at the top of his summer list of transfer targets and that Madrid president Florentino Perez was preparing to make an offer to City to tempt them into selling the 26-year-old. But Silva’s agent, Julio Llorente, insisted Silva had a long time remaining on his City contract and was not seeking to break it any time soon.

Silva joined City from Valencia in 2010, helping Roberto Mancini’s side to the FA Cup in 2010-11 and the Premier League a year later. Thus far Silva has made 102 appearances for City, scoring 14 goals, and is part of the Spain squad for Euro 2012 as La Rioja look to defend their European Championship crown.
