Porto are yet to receive contact from any club for Joao Moutinho and have dismissed any interest as just speculation.
Reported by the Metro,
The club’s president, Pinto da Costa, has spoken out against the transfer talk surrounding his player, he said: “A bid for Moutinho? It’s an invention of the newspapers to sell more copies.”
It is still thought though that there will be contact made for the player after his strong performances at Euro 2012. Along with United and Spurs, PSG and Chelsea are expected to be lining up bids to lure the playmaker out of Portugal.
Moutinho only signed for Porto in 2010 and has gone on to play a total of 96 games for the club, scoring 5 times. It was thought that Andre Villas-Boas was close to attracting him to Chelsea last summer, hence the suggestions that Tottenham will be interested in signing the 25-year-old, with the appointment of the former Blues boss to replace Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane expected in the coming days.
