The Mail adds PSG have made an enquiry into van Persie’s status via their sporting director, former Brazil and Milan midfielder Leonardo, only to have their interest rebuffed early in the summer. However, as the lack of clarity over van Persie’s contractual situation continues, Paris Saint-Germain’s interested has not waned.
Manchester City remain desirous of van Persie’s services and are said to be ready to offer Arsenal £20m for the striker, but PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is ready to rival his compatriot Roberto Mancini for van Persie. However, van Persie is understood to be less keen on a move to Ligue 1, preferring instead to switch to a major European league if he does leave the Emirates Stadium.
