Real Madrid’s £30 million bid for Luka Modric could be backed up by the addition of central midfield Nuri Sahin.
According to the Daily
Sahin has fallen out of favour with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and the arrival of Modric would likely see him slip further down the ranks – meaning a move to White Hart Lane would benefit both clubs and the player.
There has been transfer speculation surrounding Modric for a while now. Last year Chelsea chased the midfielder all summer but to no avail, after an agreement between then manager Harry Redknapp, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and the player that he would stay one more season with the promise of Champions League football at the end of that year.
But, despite finishing fourth, Spurs are not in Europe’s top competition for the second year in a row – thanks to Chelsea winning it – and with the departure of Harry Redknapp it seems that Modric will now be playing his football elsewhere next season.
